Return of the King

So first, a couple of roster moves. I sent Magnus Gallant down to Tuscon so I could call up Retro Futurist. We're doing well so I hesitated to make a change but MG didn't play a lot (3 games) and I wanted to try to do something useful.

Ohhh.... that didn't go well. Tough road trip. Ecco and Retro Futurist made their debuts today. Sorry birb, I pulled you after we wen't down 0-3.

Moat came back in time for our away trip to St Louis.

Hahahaha BLUES SUCK. Wren with two and Murmur Twin with two and Moat even got in on the action in his first game back. :toot: How bad must the Blues be????

Oh... they're the team right in front of us in the standings. How did we get dunked on by the team in 12th place but whoop the leaders? It_is_a_mystery.png I guess Moat is good luck. Back home to face Columbus.

Heck yeah, Moat as a good luck guy confirmed. Birdstrike got another assist, Fisk racked up more points, and Podima scored another goal. I told you I'd get you better minutes!

Got this note from one of the assistants

Asiina stop that! Snooze Cruise will be taking your spot if you aren't ready for the next game.

Uhhhh... just gonna pretend this one didn't happen.

I know it is only a two game losing streak but it suddenly feels like the season is about to spiral out of control. Turn left, game, noooooooooo. This was a frustrating one to sit through. I thought we had done enough to won it, taking the lead with under 4 to play, but it just wasn't to be.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm losing to Eastern Conference scrubs. I am worried that, come playoffs time, I will walk through the West, get to the Stanley Cup, and get swept. Jeeeeeeeeez. Gotta do something different. Looking over the team, Fisk has had the worst average rating. Gonna sit him for Kashuno and see what happens.

Well, Kash immediately repaid my faith with a goal. However, we are back to playing a Western team, so we may have done fine anyway.

Me too, buddy. OK, one more game for the night.

...in which we apparently have no problem going on the road and beat one of the best teams in the East. OK then. One last bit of news and then we'll look at stats and standings.

Alright then.

The End

Hey folks, I am way behind because of work and some other things so it's time to make that right. It will be picture light but content heavy. To start today we are hosting the Bruins, who are 16th in the East. Should be academic but we all know about our struggles against teams from the East. The first and second periods pass by in a flash, with the game not stopping to show me anything of note. Both teams took 16 shots and there were 3 power plays but no good opportunities. The third period is much of the same. We create a few goal mouth scrambles in the last minute of regulation but nothing do. Overtime is equally sleepy, so to a shootout we go. Why am I not surprised? Diqnol and Hats hit their efforts right at the goalie, while PMom just misses the net completely. Bummer. The result drops us to 7th. Away to Nashville now. The Predators are in 5th so if we want to have a shot at hosting a home playoff series we probably need to win here. Halfway through the first w...

Injury bug strikes again

We start today's update with some less than ideal news. I think the 23 player squad limit is the biggest thing I am having trouble adjusting to, especially when we roster 20 in a game. I've got a couple of injuries so I have free spots on my bench now which I assume is not good? Anyway, onto the first game of this update. A home loss is less than ideal. Confirmation that we suck against teams from the East as well as on the road. Gosh. So of course our next game is on the road to a team from the East, Columbus! They are 13-11-4. Let's see how it goes. Its_is_a_mystery.png Ok then Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need new penalty takers apparently. Kash also blew a glorious chance to win it with 10 seconds left in OT. And then. Well, at least this update is almost over. Can't get much worse I hope. On the road to the 14th placed team in the East. Predictable ending. Sigh. Okay, one more game for this quick update. ...

Seven Days in Hell

It was four months ago that we began this journey, seeking after a simple prize: Lord Stanley's Cup. And now, here we are, in the finals. We are on the road for four games this series and we're facing the #1 team in the East, two things that we have struggled against this season. In fact, we lost both of our regular season match-ups with the Maple Leafs. This is going to be rough. I'm not exactly confident and would not be surprised if we got swept here. Nevertheless! The show must go on. And on that note, Stickup says he is good to go.  Game 1 The first period is a period of nerves. Interestingly, though, the nerves are all on the home Maple Leafs. We get five power plays in the opening 12 minutes of the game. And on the fifth. Kashuno makes them pay. Poque retrieved the puck deep in the attacking end, gave it to Leatherman, and FL found Kashuno. 1-0 early and I just screamed in my hotel room.  A few minutes later and the Maple Leafs have a good go ...
