September 2018

Season ticket final tally: 12380

Fisk was put on the trading block. RIP Fisk.

Magnus Gallant was waived to be reassigned to Tuscon. Asiina was placed on the trading block. Fisk was then waived (WHAT) and claimed by the New Jersey Devils.

NHL Season Preview pegs the Scumhunters as 24th. Uh oh. Hats rated #6 defensemen in the league.

October 2018

Looking at it, it seems like Fisk being waved was to get salaries under control. Resigning MMM, CPig, and Moat appears to be more important to the computer

The season started and the Scumhunters ended the month in 9th.

November 2018

P Mush broke her shin, out 3 months

Murmur Twin hit 100 points

Scumhunters are in 12th out of 14 teams at the end of November.

December 2018

Busb broke a 21 game goalless streak.

Hats played in his 200th  NHL game.

Scumhunters still in 12th, four points out of the playoffs.

A few folks interested in Murmur Twin and Poque.

January 2019

Stickup, on the Panthers, gets his 100th point in the NHL.

Diqnol breaks a 23 game scoring drought.

Hats and PMom made the All Star team!

PMom, Poque, Podima, and Leatherman made their 200th NHL appearance. Bottleknight hit 100 points.

Scumhunters still in 12th, now 14 points off the pace. Playoffs are unlikely.

February 2019

MMM Whatchya Say, Busb, and Retro Futurist hit 200 NHL games.

The first trade I've seen the Scumhunters make:

Bye Kash, we'll miss you.

With the trade deadline looming and us way off the pace, offers came in hard and fast for Poque.

This is what was eventually accepted. Two firsts and the right to two prospects was too much to pass up for the now clearly in rebuilding mode Scumhunters.

Hats hit 100 points in the NHL.

February ends with the Scumhunters in 13th, 11 points off the pace.

March 2019

Kashuno hit 100 points in the NHL while playing for the Blue Jackets. Diqnol hit 200 NHL games.

Poque (Hurricaines) got banned for two games.

Scumhunters are in 14th now, bottom of the West, 17 points out of a playoff spots.

The following contracts are expiring at the end of the year: Magnus Gallant, Murmur Twin, Poison Mushroom, Bottle Knight, Quid Nose, Snooze Cruise, and Moat Illata.

April 2019

Scumhunters finish 14th with a record of 30-42-10, 19 points out of a playoff spot.

The following players were called up for the World Championships: Stickup, Kashuno, Ecco Raven, Bird Strike, Diq Nol, and Capitalist Pig.

May 2019

Quidnose signed an extension. The World Championship final was Canada vs USA. Look who got an assist on the winning goal.

Full stats of World Championship players:

Diqnol and Ecco did not get to the ice during their time at the Championships. Congratulations to Stickup and Kashuno.

June 2019

The Nashville Predators defeated the Detroit Red Wings 4-2 to become Stanley Cup Champions.

Scumhunters got the 5th pick in the draft.

Murmur Twin, PMush, Bottle Knight, Snooze Cruise, and Moat will leave the team on July 1st.

And that's the end of Year 2. Oh, actually, The Lord of Hats was named as the fans Player of the year. Now THAT is the end of Year 2.

The End

Hey folks, I am way behind because of work and some other things so it's time to make that right. It will be picture light but content heavy. To start today we are hosting the Bruins, who are 16th in the East. Should be academic but we all know about our struggles against teams from the East. The first and second periods pass by in a flash, with the game not stopping to show me anything of note. Both teams took 16 shots and there were 3 power plays but no good opportunities. The third period is much of the same. We create a few goal mouth scrambles in the last minute of regulation but nothing do. Overtime is equally sleepy, so to a shootout we go. Why am I not surprised? Diqnol and Hats hit their efforts right at the goalie, while PMom just misses the net completely. Bummer. The result drops us to 7th. Away to Nashville now. The Predators are in 5th so if we want to have a shot at hosting a home playoff series we probably need to win here. Halfway through the first w...

Injury bug strikes again

We start today's update with some less than ideal news. I think the 23 player squad limit is the biggest thing I am having trouble adjusting to, especially when we roster 20 in a game. I've got a couple of injuries so I have free spots on my bench now which I assume is not good? Anyway, onto the first game of this update. A home loss is less than ideal. Confirmation that we suck against teams from the East as well as on the road. Gosh. So of course our next game is on the road to a team from the East, Columbus! They are 13-11-4. Let's see how it goes. Its_is_a_mystery.png Ok then Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need new penalty takers apparently. Kash also blew a glorious chance to win it with 10 seconds left in OT. And then. Well, at least this update is almost over. Can't get much worse I hope. On the road to the 14th placed team in the East. Predictable ending. Sigh. Okay, one more game for this quick update. ...

Seven Days in Hell

It was four months ago that we began this journey, seeking after a simple prize: Lord Stanley's Cup. And now, here we are, in the finals. We are on the road for four games this series and we're facing the #1 team in the East, two things that we have struggled against this season. In fact, we lost both of our regular season match-ups with the Maple Leafs. This is going to be rough. I'm not exactly confident and would not be surprised if we got swept here. Nevertheless! The show must go on. And on that note, Stickup says he is good to go.  Game 1 The first period is a period of nerves. Interestingly, though, the nerves are all on the home Maple Leafs. We get five power plays in the opening 12 minutes of the game. And on the fifth. Kashuno makes them pay. Poque retrieved the puck deep in the attacking end, gave it to Leatherman, and FL found Kashuno. 1-0 early and I just screamed in my hotel room.  A few minutes later and the Maple Leafs have a good go ...
