It's been too long

Sorry folks! A long month of work means I didn't have a lot of time to do this like I wanted. However, I'm gonna be on a regular Monday / Wednesday / Friday updates now through the end, with the exception of tomorrow because I'm posting this update today instead. The penalty being a $50 donation to charity for each one I miss. Ok, back to the hockey!

A road win????? What is this madness???? But it's a good start after a long layoff. PMom with a goal and two assists was amazing for us today.

This road win was coupled with some good news.

Gonna have to reconfigure the lineups a bit to accommodate PMush's return, but that is probably a good problem to have. Poque is going to slot back in immediately. Shoring up the defense will probably help us as we approach the middle of the season.

Birdstrike was tired and needed a rest so EccoRaven stepped in at goalie. We were on the road so a loss isn't completely unexpected. Statistically, I feel like we were the better team, but we didn't take our chances. Not blaming Ecco, not blaming the lineup changes, I'm gonna blame the road (and also playing a team from the East). We'll see how the changes do when we get home. Unfortunately, we're on the road again, and well....

Busb had a good chance to send the game to overtime with a few minutes left but it wasn't to be. Chalk it up to road blues.

Speaking of Blues....

We play the Blues on January 7th, about three weeks away. Hopefully they are still really bad when we play them next. Some other good news.

Glad to have him back. Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking and forgot to slot him back in before the next game. Whoops. Well, it's at home, hopefully it goes well.

Stickup saves the day and the points at the end with help from MMT and BK. Thanks, y'all. Ok time to return FL to the lineup. And now for another four game road stretch. Which starts great with an injury.

Dang it.  We're only a minute and a half into the game.

We followed the early injury up by conceding first, but we responded with two quick powerplay goals, Kashuno grabbed a third, and Podima scored an empty net-er to put it away. Well done. Now to check on Wren's injury.

Olecranon bursitis? Sounds painful. Ten days ain't too bad though. Also, Merry Christmas everyone! Boxing day brings Game 2 of this road stretch and...

I guess Murmur Twin was really fired up about having to play on Boxing Day or something. Jeez folks. Don't score all the road goals in one game! Murmur, Kash, and Stickup hit 20 points for the season, BK and Pig hit 10, and Poque made a biscuit

I hope our 3rd road game goes as well.

It DID!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, ok, one more road game, please please please let us sweep this.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. WE DID IT. WE SWEPT A FOUR GAME ROAD SERIES. SAVE THIS IMAGE FOR ALL TIME.

Moat being a power play hunter is great. We always need more power play goals. Ok, ok. Get a break and then back home for the Flyers.

Well first I get an email that most of the team is about out of time on their contracts. I give in to everyones demands because I don't feel like trying to play hardball and learning how the salary cap works and blah blah. Magnus Gallant, Snooze Cruise, CC Keane, Allen Wren, and Capitalist Pig are not interested in re-signing currently, though, so if we have a second season we may have to bid adieu to those five. Snooze I can understand, they've only played in 14 games because they're my floating defense player, but the others are kind of shocking. Well, Gallant isn't actually since I demoted him. That one makes sense, too. Pig has played in 27 games, Wren 35, and Keane all 38. I don't know why they are wanting to move on. Guess we will see what happens.

2016 ends with a home loss to a team from the East. Bummer. Ok, lets do one more to kick off 2017 and we'll call it good for this long apology update.

Starting 2017 with a road loss. Sounds about right. Ok.

Next update has us play the Blues and probably lose to them in embarrassing fashion, and I *think* the All Star Rosters will get announced. The Actual All Star Game itself will be the update after that.

Epilogue Year 14

July 2030 Quid Nose, This is a Stickup, and Po Dima are all out of contract. Retro Futurist retired on July 17th. Quid Nose signed a 2 year, $110,000 per year deal with Lustenau in Austria. This is a Stickup signed a 1 year, $141,000 deal with Tappara in Finland. Also, this happened. I landed here. Po Dima, the oldest player in the game, remains without a team. I halfway think he may just retire. August 2030 September 2030 He actually retired a day later. Podima's memorial. He's rated as a 5 star because I'm currently in the ECHL. His last check in at the NHL level was a 1 star. This means we only have 3 Scumhunters left, and none of them are playing in the NHL currently. October 2030 With everyone playing overseas, we won't get many updates for NHL milestones, so this should go very quickly. I may end up doing a 2-for-1 and combine two years in this. Scumhunters are 2-10-2, 14th place. SEE IT WASN'T ALL MY F

Rounding the corner

I apologize for missing Friday. I was in Delaware and didn't get home until super late, followed by a day trip to Dallas for the weekend so time was not in high supply. I will do a make-up entry tomorrow. Additionally, I'm trying something new this entry: Video! Unfortunately, it took a couple of tries to get things just right so the first game or two of this update will have sparse information. Let's just get started. First up, the Sabers at home. Here is PMush scoring! Unfortunately, that was the only good thing to happen to us this game. Next up, Ducks on the road!  A well taken RF goal.  And there here is This Is A Stickup scoring, but only in picture form. Those were the only highlights I managed.  Ok, on to this game against the Canadiens, where I have an actual lot of highlights to get through.  The puck gets wrapped around the back of the net. Stickup went out to collect but Hats beats him there. Hats backs

Epilogue Year 15

July 2031 Magnus Gallant retired on July 16th. This is a Stickup retired on July 16th. Quidnose, age 35, is the last Scumhunter left. He has one year left on his deal, so I think this may be his last season. He'll turn 36 in May. I'll be going fast the rest of the way. Once Quid Nose retired, we'll open up the Scumhunters record book and see if any of our former players still hold records or not. Or... not. How about that. Quidnose was a 2 star back when he was 33 in the NHL, probably a 1 star by now. So... that's that, then. The new season hasn't started yet so I'll just go ahead and crack open the record book. Remember, our season was from August 2016-June 2017 so anything in those dates belongs to our squad. We have the Highest League Position, Highest Attendance, Lowest Attendance (no idea how this wasn't broken during the years of 14th place), Highest Playoff Attendance, Lowest Playoff Attendance (all playoff
