The New Year is not kind

We start off this update with some good injury news.

I'll probably wait to slot him back into the lineup. Him and Fisk are my worst two players by average rating this season and I want to see if Fisk can compete for the spot. In truth, Center has been a void. My top four ranked centers are my four worst players. Meanwhile, Kashuno, who should be the odd man out as my #5 Center talent-wise has been one of the best players on the team this season. I'm just not sure what to do with any of that. I just discovered a new screen actually.

I'll have to start adding this at the end of updates along with leaders and stats. Cool beans. Anyway, on to the games. We've got a four game home stand to start this update off.

Well, that's a less than ideal start. I also still haven't learned how to keep my cursor out of the screenshot apparently. Jeez, how many updates has it been? I don't have a lot to say about this one. It's yet another example of an Eastern team outplaying us. So now we get to play the Blues who earlier this year set the record for most defeats in a row. I can only pray this goes well.

Predictably, we're down 2-0 inside of 6 minutes. Killer.

We got back in it at 2-2 but an early goal in the second was the end of the scoring for the game. Criminal. We completely outplayed them and couldn't do anything with it. Argh.

In better news, the All Star invites came out. Well, invite, singular.

Congrats to The Lord of Hats! He deserves it. I also got Capitalist Pig to sign a new contract somehow? That's good. Game 3 of 4 at home time.

Nothing happened in this game and I hate all of my players right now. 14 penalty minutes. Bleh. Hopefully the last game of this stand will bring a change, I don't want to lose every game in this update.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Vote Moat it rhymes or something like that. I don't know. I'm glad we won.

Ok, that's all I can stomach for this update. Check in next time to see how Hats does in the All Star game and also to see if we can win at home. It'll be 3 home games and 2 road games, probably. May do more than 5 if we actually win a few, ha.

The End

Hey folks, I am way behind because of work and some other things so it's time to make that right. It will be picture light but content heavy. To start today we are hosting the Bruins, who are 16th in the East. Should be academic but we all know about our struggles against teams from the East. The first and second periods pass by in a flash, with the game not stopping to show me anything of note. Both teams took 16 shots and there were 3 power plays but no good opportunities. The third period is much of the same. We create a few goal mouth scrambles in the last minute of regulation but nothing do. Overtime is equally sleepy, so to a shootout we go. Why am I not surprised? Diqnol and Hats hit their efforts right at the goalie, while PMom just misses the net completely. Bummer. The result drops us to 7th. Away to Nashville now. The Predators are in 5th so if we want to have a shot at hosting a home playoff series we probably need to win here. Halfway through the first w...

Injury bug strikes again

We start today's update with some less than ideal news. I think the 23 player squad limit is the biggest thing I am having trouble adjusting to, especially when we roster 20 in a game. I've got a couple of injuries so I have free spots on my bench now which I assume is not good? Anyway, onto the first game of this update. A home loss is less than ideal. Confirmation that we suck against teams from the East as well as on the road. Gosh. So of course our next game is on the road to a team from the East, Columbus! They are 13-11-4. Let's see how it goes. Its_is_a_mystery.png Ok then Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need new penalty takers apparently. Kash also blew a glorious chance to win it with 10 seconds left in OT. And then. Well, at least this update is almost over. Can't get much worse I hope. On the road to the 14th placed team in the East. Predictable ending. Sigh. Okay, one more game for this quick update. ...

Seven Days in Hell

It was four months ago that we began this journey, seeking after a simple prize: Lord Stanley's Cup. And now, here we are, in the finals. We are on the road for four games this series and we're facing the #1 team in the East, two things that we have struggled against this season. In fact, we lost both of our regular season match-ups with the Maple Leafs. This is going to be rough. I'm not exactly confident and would not be surprised if we got swept here. Nevertheless! The show must go on. And on that note, Stickup says he is good to go.  Game 1 The first period is a period of nerves. Interestingly, though, the nerves are all on the home Maple Leafs. We get five power plays in the opening 12 minutes of the game. And on the fifth. Kashuno makes them pay. Poque retrieved the puck deep in the attacking end, gave it to Leatherman, and FL found Kashuno. 1-0 early and I just screamed in my hotel room.  A few minutes later and the Maple Leafs have a good go ...
