All Star Break

With the All Star Break in this update, and with me having some work to do tonight, this is gonna be a short update. Let's jump right in.

Uhhh... maybe this will be a one game update. This game was out of reach within seven minutes. Frustration.

Game two here goes much better. We found ourselves down 2-0 but a great fight back led by Podima's two goals and an assist saw us through.

Well, on the road. Had a 2 goal lead. Lost that. Took the lead again. Lost it. Made it to overtime. Snooze Cruise got a high sticking penalty just before OT so we played 80% of the bonus period down a person. And then we missed both of our shots in the shootout. Tough loss. Well lets hope the All Star game can reinvigorate us.

Well, Team Dias got ran through, but The Lord of Hats notched up a (second) assist! Also, I happened to notice this.

The Lord of Hats was captain for Team Dias. Way to go, Hats! After the game we got an email about this.

Ok, next game for Scumhunters!

A late-ish double by Kashuno saves our bacon here. The other thing of note to happen in this game was BottleKnight getting tossed.

So I'm going to have to sit him for a little while. Actually, the NHL is taking care of that for me, apparently.

I'm gonna appeal that. If the NHL panel is anything like the MLS panel, they'll cave to me.

Hahaha.  Dance, puppets, dance. Still going to make him sit for inconveniencing me all the same.

Captain of the West The Lord of Hats wins it in overtime, saving us from an embarrassing shootout loss. Cool. Think I'm gonna leave it here for now. We are 50 games in and still look good for the playoffs, which was always objective one. We have a 7 game road stretch coming up, though. That will probably make our break our season. I will plan on getting through that next time.

Wrap up:

Epilogue Year 6

July 2022 Ecco Raven, Magnus Gallant, Murmur Twin (Kings), CC Keane (Ducks), Diq Nol (retiring), Bird Strike, Kash Uno (Blue Jackets), and Retro Futurist (Kings) are all out of contract and have left their respective teams. Ecco signed for Scumhunters for 4 years, $3.3 million per year Murmur Twin signed for Scumhunters for 1 year, $4.8 million Retro Futurist signed for Scumhunters for 4 years, $3.7 million per year Bird Strike signed for Scumhunters for 2 years, $1.8 million per year Magnus Gallant signed for Scumhunters for 3 years, $1.35 million per year CC Keane signed for Scumhunters for 2 years, $3.6 million per year Kashuno signed for Scumhunters for 3 years, $1.6 million per year LOL that Bird is getting less money than Ecco. Bird has always started and Ecco has been #2. I wonder if that is changing? In the hurry to sign up all these players, we are over the salary cap I think, so someone if not a few folks will probably be released again. Circle of life. This is ...

Injury bug strikes again

We start today's update with some less than ideal news. I think the 23 player squad limit is the biggest thing I am having trouble adjusting to, especially when we roster 20 in a game. I've got a couple of injuries so I have free spots on my bench now which I assume is not good? Anyway, onto the first game of this update. A home loss is less than ideal. Confirmation that we suck against teams from the East as well as on the road. Gosh. So of course our next game is on the road to a team from the East, Columbus! They are 13-11-4. Let's see how it goes. Its_is_a_mystery.png Ok then Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need new penalty takers apparently. Kash also blew a glorious chance to win it with 10 seconds left in OT. And then. Well, at least this update is almost over. Can't get much worse I hope. On the road to the 14th placed team in the East. Predictable ending. Sigh. Okay, one more game for this quick update. ...

Mailing it in

Bonus update. I don't have the most time in the world so back to just pictures today. We open with a home game against the Capitals, who are 2nd in the East. I probably forgot to mention it last time, but Ecco took over at goalie for the last game. Birdstrike was tired and wanted a day off. He's back in the lineup today, though. Halfway through the first period, Poque picks up the loose puck behind our net. Quickly, he hits it out to Murmur Twin who in turn pushes it up to busb, flashing down the left wing. Busb centers it back for Murmur Twin, who Makes no mistake about putting the biscuit in the basket. 1-0. #8 MMM Whatchya Say took a shot and the goalie spilled it. #33 Retro Futurist was on hand to tap it in, a real poachers goal. 2-0, which is how the first ends. Don't have a screenshot, but it gets made 2-1 after a comedy of errors halfway through the second. Poque turns the puck over near the middle of the rink for some reason. A few passes later and a s...
