Bonus update. I don't have the most time in the world so back to just pictures today. We open with a home game against the Capitals, who are 2nd in the East. I probably forgot to mention it last time, but Ecco took over at goalie for the last game. Birdstrike was tired and wanted a day off. He's back in the lineup today, though.

Halfway through the first period, Poque picks up the loose puck behind our net. Quickly, he hits it out to Murmur Twin who in turn pushes it up to busb, flashing down the left wing. Busb centers it back for Murmur Twin, who

Makes no mistake about putting the biscuit in the basket. 1-0.

#8 MMM Whatchya Say took a shot and the goalie spilled it. #33 Retro Futurist was on hand to tap it in, a real poachers goal. 2-0, which is how the first ends.

Don't have a screenshot, but it gets made 2-1 after a comedy of errors halfway through the second. Poque turns the puck over near the middle of the rink for some reason. A few passes later and a shot is made at Bird. A good save but he spills it and then just... sits there. One of their players skates up and somehow lifts it over the net. He then skates around behind the net, and then deposits it calmly past Bird, who has started to move again. Craziest stuff happens when we're shorthanded.

I missed it but now it's 2-2 at the end of the second. Wait, no, 3-2. WTF.

We attack, attack, attack in the third, but there are no more goals to be found.

Next up are the Devils, who are 15th in the East. Would be good to get a win back here.

Fisk with a powerplay goal two minutes into the first. 1-0.

#4 Asiina has the puck stolen by #71 who then fires a shot that catches Bird sleeping. 1-1, end of the first.

Puck goes from #51 to #10 to #77 across their front line to the wing, and he buries it. Down 2-1 now.

Hats scores from distance on a powerplay to level it at 2-2, which is how the third will begin. And in. To overtime!

Just over 30 seconds into overtime, Fisk took a shot which their goalie spills but doesn't react to. Fisk calmly skates up and puts it past him to win the game.

Blackhawks away, next.

It was boring and did not go well so I didn't get any good screenshots. We played like crap and I just want to get past this one.

Immediately, away to the #2 in the West Dallas Stars.

Nothing happens for the first two periods, then

Moat scores two minutes into the third period. With six minutes to go, though, the Stars tied it 1-1, and then a minute later we were losing 2-1. Of course, another minute goes by, then

Moat ties it from close range, 2-2.

Straight from the face off, Pinterest Mom found Moat who then squared it to Fisk and what do you know, we're in the lead 3-2. Four goals in less than two minutes. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

What a whirlwind of emotions at the end, there. Moat, Fisk, and PMom were huge at the end and that's an important win to edge us closer to 4th place. In fact, the win puts us in 3rd place, winning a three way tie. I think we are probably too far back to catch the Kings in 1st, and the division winners take the top two spots, so this is about as high as we can go.

Home against the Rangers will end this update.

RF scores from crazy far out less than a minute in, and while I typed this up Podima scored to make it 2-0 in less than two minutes. I think I'm gonna get my wi... hey, Murmur Twin scored, too. 3-0 after 10 minutes. Anyway, as I was saying, I think I'm gonna get my wish.

Here is RF making it 4-0 halfway through the second, and that's how it ends.

Seriously look how far out that first RF goal is from. What a guy.

We are 12 points between our wins and Canuck losses away from clinching a spot in the playoffs. We're almost there. Also, Fisk is tied for leading goal scorer. I'm unsure how the game chose who to display but I wanted to make sure to mention that.

Wrap up

Rounding the corner

I apologize for missing Friday. I was in Delaware and didn't get home until super late, followed by a day trip to Dallas for the weekend so time was not in high supply. I will do a make-up entry tomorrow. Additionally, I'm trying something new this entry: Video! Unfortunately, it took a couple of tries to get things just right so the first game or two of this update will have sparse information. Let's just get started. First up, the Sabers at home. Here is PMush scoring! Unfortunately, that was the only good thing to happen to us this game. Next up, Ducks on the road!  A well taken RF goal.  And there here is This Is A Stickup scoring, but only in picture form. Those were the only highlights I managed.  Ok, on to this game against the Canadiens, where I have an actual lot of highlights to get through.  The puck gets wrapped around the back of the net. Stickup went out to collect but Hats beats him there. Hats...

Epilogue Year 6

July 2022 Ecco Raven, Magnus Gallant, Murmur Twin (Kings), CC Keane (Ducks), Diq Nol (retiring), Bird Strike, Kash Uno (Blue Jackets), and Retro Futurist (Kings) are all out of contract and have left their respective teams. Ecco signed for Scumhunters for 4 years, $3.3 million per year Murmur Twin signed for Scumhunters for 1 year, $4.8 million Retro Futurist signed for Scumhunters for 4 years, $3.7 million per year Bird Strike signed for Scumhunters for 2 years, $1.8 million per year Magnus Gallant signed for Scumhunters for 3 years, $1.35 million per year CC Keane signed for Scumhunters for 2 years, $3.6 million per year Kashuno signed for Scumhunters for 3 years, $1.6 million per year LOL that Bird is getting less money than Ecco. Bird has always started and Ecco has been #2. I wonder if that is changing? In the hurry to sign up all these players, we are over the salary cap I think, so someone if not a few folks will probably be released again. Circle of life. This is ...

Epilogue Year 5

July 2021 Magnus Gallant and Bottle Knight have left the Scumhunters. The AI let a lot of players go so we are down to a squad of 12 Scumhunters, 4 randos, and 2 guys the computer made up because we didn't have a lot of players. Cant look at their "Information" or give them an actual contract. Nice job, AI. Should mean a lot of players in. Sure enough, Magnus Gallant re-signed. This is a guy whose latest contract extension was for $920,000 and has exclusively played in the AHL at Tuscon the last three years. He was just handed a $3.6 million dollar one year deal. AI dumb. Bottle Knight also returned for 2 years, $3.2 million per year. I mentioned possible retirements coming up. Here's one. And actually, a day later, he went ahead and retired, not bothering to play the last season on his contract. So here are FL's final screens. 23 Scumhunters remain. August 2021 Austria will host the 2026 Olympic games. September 2021 The L...
