Epilogue: Year 1

There were 25 players who were awarded medals after the Mumbles Scumhunters successfully won the Stanley Cup. While I may not be interested in playing through a full season as such again, I can absolutely just sim a month at a time and keep track of what happens to all of us. Eventually the Scumhunters will fire me and then I'll be free. Maybe I should just resign now. Hm. Eh, I'll give it a year.

August 2017

Snooze Cruise signs a new contract with the Scumhunters under AI control. I'm still hands off but obviously I'm happy to see Snooze come home. I have half a mind to offer Keane and Wren, they are open to contracts right now, but I'm keeping my hands out of this.

Keane signed a 5 year, $3.8 million per year, deal with the New York Rangers.

Wren signed a 3 year, $2 million per year, deal with the Buffalo Sabres.

September 2017

The Lord of Hats is named captain of the Scumhunters again. Poque and Bottleknight are named as alternate captains. I believe Poque replaced Flying Leatherman. Training camp begins.

The Scumhunters sold 12582 season tickets.

Scumhunters are predicted as 2nd most likely to lift Stanley Cup, behind the Sabres. Hats is still MVP. Snooze Cruise is considered the best signing so far.

Moat was put on the trading block.

Quidnose was assigned to Tuscon.

Hats made #3 on a list top defensemen heading into the season.

October 2017

Bottleknight won a Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week award for a week of one goal and three assists across two games.

EccoRaven won the October Player of the Month award for playing three games, all of which were wins, and recording two shutouts.

November 2017

The Lord of Hats, Pinterest Mom, Podima, Murmur Twin, Poque, Leatherman, Busb, and Stickup played in their 100th NHL game.

This happened:

Note that I didn't choose the response to the media, but when the AI chooses while I'm "on vacation" it still attaches my name.

The Sabres have already put Wren on the trading block. He has played in 25 games, scoring 5 goals and recording 4 assists.

Birdstrike won Defensive Player of the Month. Seven games played, two shutouts, six wins.

Quidnose won AHL Player of the Month down in Tuscon. Nine games played, four goals, ten assists.

Keane has played 26 games for the Rangers, assisting on 9 goals. He is the second shift RD.

Fisk is the Scumhunters leading scorer with 13 goals. Pinterest Mom has the most assists with 13. The Scumhunters are 3rd in the West, 2 points off 1st.

December 2017

Kashuno, MMM Whatchya Say, Jonathan Fisk, Birdstrike, Asiina, and Retro Futurist hit their 100th NHL game

Snooze Cruise picked up a 2 game ban after picking up against a game misconduct penalty in a 3-1 win over the Ducks.

Capitalist Pig was put on the trading block.

The Scumhunters lost 8-1 to the Sabres. Oof.

End of December, the Scumhunters are 4th in the West, six points out of 1st. Fisk has 17 goals to lead the team, and Bottleknight has 17 assists.

January 2018

Poque got suspended for a game for a match penalty in a 3-2 win over the Jets. He was later given a second game for that. Good going.

Diqnol, Moat, and Poison Mushroom hit 100 NHL games.

Moat and Pig, already on the trading block, formally put in transfer requests.

Hats has been tipped to win some post season awards.

Scumhunters end January in 6th place, 9 points ahead of 9th.

February 2018

The Olympics were this month! Here were our call ups.

Three call ups. Nice. Especially for Hats...

Got an update on the first game.

OH NO. I just moved forward a week and got a bajillion trade rumor emails so I don't have any more playing emails :\

Birdstrike played all four games for Slovakia as they were eliminated. Unfortunately, they lost all four games. Three in regulation, one in a shootout. Starting goalie.

Hats has played all four games for Canada at this point, finding one goal and three assists, being named as the best player against Switzerland (2 assists) and Latvia (1 goal, 1 assist). First shift left defense.

PMom has played all four games for USA, no points recorded yet though. Fourth shift center.

Semi finals:

So Canada went to the Bronze medal game:

While the USA was in the finals:

Congrats PMom!

It seems like the Scumhunters tried to trade for Wren. We offered a 3rd and a 4th for Wren and a 4th in 2020. Sabres rejected.

A final Olympics update:

Scumhunters still in 6th.

March 2018

Pig and Bottleknight reached 100 NHL games. PMom reached 100 NHL Points.

The Scumhunters are in 5th, and need only 3 points to clinch a playoff berth.

The following players have not renewed contracts yet and look like they will enter free agency: MMM Whatchya Say, Magnus Gallant, Capitalist Pig, This Is A Stickup, Quidnose, Moatillata

April 2018

Bottleknight won a player of the week (and OPOTW) award when he scored 3 and assisted 5 in a 4 game span.

Fisk hit 100 points. Snooze Cruise hit 100 appearances.

Scumhunters are playing the Sharks in the first round. We lost all 5 matchups against them this year.

Retro Futurist got tossed and ended up with a total of a 3 game suspension after getting a match penalty.

PMom was Offensive Player of the Week, playing 3 and scoring 3.

PMom scored two goals in game 7 to lead the Scumhunters to a 4-3 series win over the Sharks. The Ducks are next.

May 2018

Bottleknight got another player of the week + OPOTW combo, 3 games, 2 goals, 3 assists.

MMM Whatchya Say, Podima, Bottleknight, and a non-maf new player scored in a 4-1 win over the Ducks to complete a 4-0 sweep. The Avalanche are next in the Western Conference Finals.

Murmur Twin won an offensive player of the week for 3 goals in 2 games.

Game 1: Lost in the 106th minute in overtime.
Game 2: Lost 20 seconds into overtime.
Game 3: Lost 3 minutes into overtime.

We won game 4, but lost in 5. Avalanche vs Capitals for the Cup.

June 2018

Capitals swept the Avalanche.

Game spit this out at me:

AFAIK, Hats hasn't won the Norris Trophy. So... spoilers maybe? Nope, awards came and went and nothing for the Scumhunters, so I guess that is just something he won in the past sometime.

MMM Whatchya Say, Moat Illata, and This Is A Stickup have left the team and become free agents. Capitalist Pig is out of contract, but his rights remain with the Scumhunters as he is a restricted free agent.

Congrats Bottleknight.

See everyone for 2018/19.

Rounding the corner

I apologize for missing Friday. I was in Delaware and didn't get home until super late, followed by a day trip to Dallas for the weekend so time was not in high supply. I will do a make-up entry tomorrow. Additionally, I'm trying something new this entry: Video! Unfortunately, it took a couple of tries to get things just right so the first game or two of this update will have sparse information. Let's just get started. First up, the Sabers at home. Here is PMush scoring! Unfortunately, that was the only good thing to happen to us this game. Next up, Ducks on the road!  A well taken RF goal.  And there here is This Is A Stickup scoring, but only in picture form. Those were the only highlights I managed.  Ok, on to this game against the Canadiens, where I have an actual lot of highlights to get through.  The puck gets wrapped around the back of the net. Stickup went out to collect but Hats beats him there. Hats backs

Epilogue Year 14

July 2030 Quid Nose, This is a Stickup, and Po Dima are all out of contract. Retro Futurist retired on July 17th. Quid Nose signed a 2 year, $110,000 per year deal with Lustenau in Austria. This is a Stickup signed a 1 year, $141,000 deal with Tappara in Finland. Also, this happened. I landed here. Po Dima, the oldest player in the game, remains without a team. I halfway think he may just retire. August 2030 September 2030 He actually retired a day later. Podima's memorial. He's rated as a 5 star because I'm currently in the ECHL. His last check in at the NHL level was a 1 star. This means we only have 3 Scumhunters left, and none of them are playing in the NHL currently. October 2030 With everyone playing overseas, we won't get many updates for NHL milestones, so this should go very quickly. I may end up doing a 2-for-1 and combine two years in this. Scumhunters are 2-10-2, 14th place. SEE IT WASN'T ALL MY F

Epilogue Year 15

July 2031 Magnus Gallant retired on July 16th. This is a Stickup retired on July 16th. Quidnose, age 35, is the last Scumhunter left. He has one year left on his deal, so I think this may be his last season. He'll turn 36 in May. I'll be going fast the rest of the way. Once Quid Nose retired, we'll open up the Scumhunters record book and see if any of our former players still hold records or not. Or... not. How about that. Quidnose was a 2 star back when he was 33 in the NHL, probably a 1 star by now. So... that's that, then. The new season hasn't started yet so I'll just go ahead and crack open the record book. Remember, our season was from August 2016-June 2017 so anything in those dates belongs to our squad. We have the Highest League Position, Highest Attendance, Lowest Attendance (no idea how this wasn't broken during the years of 14th place), Highest Playoff Attendance, Lowest Playoff Attendance (all playoff
