Epilogue Year 3

July 2019

Murmur Twin, Poison Mushroom, Bottle Knight, Moat Illata, and Snooze Cruise did end up leaving the Scumhunters.

Snooze Cruise re-signed for 2 years, $3.6 million per year.
Murmur Twin re-signed for 3 years, $4.4 million per year.
Moat Illata re-signed for 2 years, $3.5 million per year.
Poison Mushroom re-signed for 5 years, $3.7 million per year

Then this happened

I know the name Mills isn't super uncommon, but it's funny to me that a random player the computer signed happened to overlap.

All those signings meant the Scumhunters were way over budget though, and with a certain player on the trading block...

It's possible that we are just putting her through waivers so that we can then assign her to one of our minor league teams, but, I doubt it. Good luck on your future endeavors, Asiina. Quidnose was called back to the main roster.

Bottle Knight signed with the Calgary Flames on a 1 year, $4.2 million dollar deal.

August 2019

Nothing really happens here.

September 2019

The Lord of Hats remains captain. Alternate captains are Po Dima and Moat Illata.

At the end of September, the waiver news comes fast and hard. Magnus Gallant is waived (probably to be assigned to Tuscon), and Flying Leatherman is put on the trading block.

October 2019

The NHL Season Preview has us in 28th. Yeesh. Hats is the #6 rated defenseman in the NHL, still.

Moat hit NHL game 200.

Flying Leatherman was waived and re-assigned to the Tuscon Roadrunners.

Pinterest Mom won an NHL Player and Offensive Player of the week for 4 goals and 2 assists in 3 games. PMom also hit 100 career NHL assists.

Scumhunters are actually leading the West after 9 games. 6-3-0. First place!

Birdstrike and Capitalist Pig hit 200 NHL games.

November 2019

Snooze Cruise hit 200 NHL games.

The Lord of Hats hit 100 NHL assists.

Bird Strike hit 100 NHL wins.

Podima hit 100 NHL points.

Scumhunters are in 7th.

December 2019

Quidnose hit 100 NHL appearances.

Poison Mushroom hit 200 NHL appearances.

Busb hit 100 NHL points.

Scumhunters are in 8th at the end of the year.

January 2020

There hasn't been a lot of news or things going on this year. Sorry about that.

Poque hit 100 NHL points while playing for the Hurricanes. Retro Futurist also hit this milestone.

All Star Selection time!

Congrats PMom!

Haha. Nice. And... did yall see what I saw?

Hats is also  an All Star and THEY NAMED THE TEAM AFTER HIM. Nice. Doesn't look like any former Scumhunters are on either roster though.

Moat will be 37 at the end of the year and will be ending his contract one season early. He'll be the first Scumhunter to retire. We'll miss you, man. I'll make sure to post his screenshots before he exits the game completely.

PMom got an assist, but Hats Team won the All Star game.

Scumhunters in 7th.

February 2020

Poque signed a new 1 year deal with the Hurricanes worth $7 million. Glad to see he is getting paid!

The Lord of Hats hit 300 NHL appearances.

Asiina signed with Davos in Switzerland for two months, getting $400,000.

Scumhunters in 5th and the end of the month. Happy leap year!

March 2020

Podima, Retro Futurist, Murmur Twin, MMM Whatchya Say, and PMom hit 300 NHL appearances.

Moat and Poison Mushroom hit 100 NHL points.

We also had a team record set by a nobody

Scumhunters in 4th.

April 2020

Another team record set, this time a good one!

Busb hit 300 NHL games.

PMom hit 200 NHL points.

Scumhunters finish 6th and will take on the Oilers.

The Scumhunters lost the series 4-2. Murmur Twin got injured, probably contributed.

May 2020

Well I wasn't expecting this.

Bye FL.

Hey, Stickup...

Looks like you scored the winning goal in this year's world championship! This is a good time to do an international round up.

Only Kash and Stickup, but they both have another medal to their name. Congrats guys.

Asiina signed a contract with Geneve-Servette for one year, $925,000.

Flying Leatherman has signed with HC Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland, rejecting Karlskrona HK, MODO Hockey, and EHC Black Wings Linz. His contract is for 1 year, $249,000.

June 2020

The Nashville Predators have won the Stanley Cup, defeating the Detroit Red Wings 4-2.

Bottle Knight (Flames), Birdstrike, Allen Wren (Sabres), Podima, and Retro Futurist are about to be out of contract. Podima asks to be traded away for some reason.

Bird Strike signed a 2 year, $7 million per year deal right before his current contract expired.

Now it's time to memorialize Moat Illata. His game totals include playoffs and pre season games.

Enjoy retirement, buddy.

Well deserved.

Rounding the corner

I apologize for missing Friday. I was in Delaware and didn't get home until super late, followed by a day trip to Dallas for the weekend so time was not in high supply. I will do a make-up entry tomorrow. Additionally, I'm trying something new this entry: Video! Unfortunately, it took a couple of tries to get things just right so the first game or two of this update will have sparse information. Let's just get started. First up, the Sabers at home. Here is PMush scoring! Unfortunately, that was the only good thing to happen to us this game. Next up, Ducks on the road!  A well taken RF goal.  And there here is This Is A Stickup scoring, but only in picture form. Those were the only highlights I managed.  Ok, on to this game against the Canadiens, where I have an actual lot of highlights to get through.  The puck gets wrapped around the back of the net. Stickup went out to collect but Hats beats him there. Hats...

Wrapping up a road trip

We have the second half of that road trip to tackle so lets get to it. We're away to the Captials. They're 5th in the East to our 5th in the West. The first period didn't have a lot happen in it at all. In the second the deadlock was broken by a good effort by Fisk. The Fisk goal was about the only action of the second period. Pretty dull proceedings. Things were going pretty well until Poque just decided to stop skating after the puck at one point. That turnover led to a goal and sent the game to overtime. Also the puck deflected off of Birdstrike. Way to go, keep. Well, you can probably guess how that turned out. The winning goal came at the very end of overtime. There was a faceoff happening with 20 seconds left so I pulled this up to type that previous paragraph because I just knew  how things were going to go. Of course Poque decided to make amends for being a bonehead earlier. Since I forgot that, and because I decided to not bother copying the bottom half ...

Injury bug strikes again

We start today's update with some less than ideal news. I think the 23 player squad limit is the biggest thing I am having trouble adjusting to, especially when we roster 20 in a game. I've got a couple of injuries so I have free spots on my bench now which I assume is not good? Anyway, onto the first game of this update. A home loss is less than ideal. Confirmation that we suck against teams from the East as well as on the road. Gosh. So of course our next game is on the road to a team from the East, Columbus! They are 13-11-4. Let's see how it goes. Its_is_a_mystery.png Ok then Come onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn. I need new penalty takers apparently. Kash also blew a glorious chance to win it with 10 seconds left in OT. And then. Well, at least this update is almost over. Can't get much worse I hope. On the road to the 14th placed team in the East. Predictable ending. Sigh. Okay, one more game for this quick update. ...
